The overhaul of legendary aerobatics „Z 50 LS“ for Romanian Aero Club in ZLIN AIRCRAFT a.s.

In July 2013 the representatives of our company ZLIN AIRCRAFT a.s. hand over two legendary aerobatic specials ZLIN Z 50 LS to Romanian pilots.
The Romanian Aero Club requested repair these air jewelries produced by our company (previous Moravan), on the basis of the satisfaction with the overhaul of four training specials ZLIN Z 142 in recent years.
 

Both planes were manufactured in 1985 and out of service since 1991 (YR-ZAX) and 1993 (YR-ZAY) until 2012 when the contract for the repair was signed.  Now those almost thirty years planes are back on the sky!

About the satisfaction of ZLIN AIRCRAFT services speak also further interest of Romanian Aero Club for another mutual cooperation which should include replacement of existing aircraft fleet ZLIN Z 526 for new training aerobatic specials ZLIN Z 242 L Guru with newly certified glasscockpit Garmin G500.

A few interesting facts about the “fifties”:

- this is the first mass-produces sport aerobatic aircraft in the world,

- the first flight was in 1975, July 18^th,

- the pilot Ivan Tucek with this aircraft won gold medal at the World Championship in 1978,

- also the aerobatic group Flying Bulls fly with these machines.

The crossing of aircraft was performed by doyen of Czech aviation – Ing. Jiří Kobrle and head of the Flying Bulls – Radka Máchová.
